Dover Castle

Had a quick look around Dover castle... an impressive place. It has an extensive network of tunnels that were used in WWII as a command post and emergency hosptial. Posted by Picasa

Dover

Spent Monday morning at Dover trying to see the white cliffs through the mist. France is in the background of this photo (you'll have to take our word for it). Actually we couldn't see much at all but on a clear day, you can evidently see all the way to Calais. The only indication we were so close was that we got a text from Virgin mobile welcoming us to France and phone calls cost 95p per min.... Posted by Picasa

Canterbury, Kent.

Our second stop was Canterbury, famous for it's cathedral (where some guy was topped 9 centuries ago). A bit rainy here today (as we type this in a Starbucks), but the cathedral is quite stunning. Posted by Picasa

Broadstairs, Kent

Our first destination on the trip was Broadstairs, Kent. It's a small seaside town in the south east of England near Canterbury & Dover. A really nice place actually; not as tacky as nearby Margate. A very sunny Saturday afternoon, though still quite chilly. We enjoyed a pint sitting in the sun. Posted by Picasa
